AI roleplay training in your Moodle courses
Learners practice live voice conversations with AI personas from a Moodle course. One link to paste, no plugin to install.
Who this is for
For L&D teams and course authors who run their training in Moodle and want sales, support, HR or healthcare conversations practiced for real, not read about. Learners stay in the course they know; managers follow scores on the Replio dashboard. The first method below needs no Moodle administrator.
No Moodle plugin. Replio connects through standard Moodle resources: URL, Page and SCORM. There is no LTI tool yet; it is on the roadmap.
Ways to connect
A link in the course (recommended)
Add a URL resource with the project join link. Each learner confirms a work email once with a 6-digit code and starts training. Replio enrols them on the spot; no invitation to send.
Embedded in a Moodle page
Paste the iframe snippet from the project page into a Page resource. The session runs inside Moodle; the snippet already carries the microphone permission.
SCORM activity
Download the SCORM 1.2 package and add it as a SCORM activity. Moodle records completion when the learner launches it; the session itself opens on Replio in a new tab.
Setup, step by step
Turn on the join link in Replio
Open the project, tab Integrations, card Add to your LMS or website. Switch the link on and, if you want, restrict it to your company's email domains.
Add a URL resource in Moodle
In the course, choose Add an activity or resource, then URL. Paste the join link. Pick the display option Open or In pop-up: the microphone needs Replio to run in its own window.
Or embed in a Page resource
Paste the iframe snippet from the same card into the page content. Add your Moodle site address to the allowed origins on the Developers page of your dashboard, or the frame stays blank.
Test as a learner
Open the link from a student account. Enter a work email, type the code received by email, pick a persona and talk. The device is remembered for 30 days, so the second visit goes straight in.
Where results land
Replio produces the results after each session: a score, five skill metrics, the transcript and coaching feedback. They live on the Replio dashboard and can be pushed to your systems.
- Replio dashboard
- Every session, score and skill trend per project and per learner, with export.
- Moodle gradebook
- Not updated. The SCORM activity records completion at launch, without a score. Use the xAPI package with an LRS when you need scores in your learning records.
- Your tools
- Webhooks the moment a session is scored, the public API, Zapier or a Google Sheet; see the Zapier guide.
Good to know
- Each new learner who joins takes a seat of your plan, like an invited trainee. A join link accepts up to 100 new learners per day.
- Learners need a work email they can read; the allowed-domains setting keeps the link to your organisation.
- Moodle's Embed display option for a URL resource frames the page: use Open or In pop-up instead, or the Page resource with the iframe snippet.
- The SCORM 1.2 package carries no learner identity: a learner launching it must already be a Replio trainee and sign in. The join link is the self-service path.

Questions managers ask
Do I need a Moodle administrator?
Not for the link: a course editor can add a URL resource. Embedding with the iframe needs nothing on the Moodle side either, only the allowed origin on the Replio side. A SCORM activity follows your usual course rules.
Which Moodle versions work?
The three methods rely on resources present in every supported Moodle version: URL, Page and the SCORM 1.2 player. MoodleCloud and self-hosted sites behave the same; Replio has no version-specific code.
Can learners use single sign-on?
The join link verifies a work email with a code and remembers the device for 30 days; no password is created. SAML and OIDC single sign-on is available on enterprise plans for managers and trainees.
Do scores appear in Moodle?
No. Replio scores stay on its dashboard and in the systems you connect. Moodle's gradebook only sees SCORM completion. An LRS connected through the xAPI package receives completion and the score of each session.
Try it in a test course
Create a free account, generate a project from your material and paste the link in a sandbox course. First session in under an hour.
Moodle: names and logos belong to their respective owners. Replio is an independent product, not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
