01
Choose Coach Mode
The Choose Training Mode screen offers two options. Practice runs without interruptions and gives feedback at the end, while Coach Mode gives real-time guidance during the practice session.
The example uses a Clinical Trial Protocol Onboarding project. For a harder session, the trainee picks Elena, a Hard persona who oversees clinical operations at a mid-sized biotechnology firm. Her goal is to handle a protocol modification without causing patient dropouts or creating a regulatory compliance risk. The persona window also lets you switch between a Direct and an Indirect style, and the Session Briefing shows the case, the scenario and quick tips before the session starts.
02
The coach leads the scenarios
In Coach Mode the AI coach leads the session. It introduces itself, then plays out scenarios built from the training content. In the first one it voices a worry the trainee will hear in real life: does an extra monitoring step in the safety protocol really have to be reported through CTIS, or can it be handled internally?
03
Feedback in the moment
When an answer misses the point, the coach steps out of the scenario, says why the reply falls short and suggests a better framing. Here it recommends explaining that the change is a substantial modification that must legally be filed, and that this transparency protects patients. It then invites the trainee to try again.
When the trainee is unsure, they can simply ask how to answer. The coach explains how to present a halted trial as a protective measure, then brings the scenario back so the trainee can practice that answer. Saying "let's move on" takes the session to the next scenario.
04
Session length and rhythm
You can end the session at any time. For best results, Replio recommends sessions of 10 to 20 minutes, three or four times per week. This rhythm follows research on knowledge retention and supports faster development of communication skills.
05
Reflection and session analysis
After each coach session, the trainee completes the Session Reflection: a self-rating from 1 to 10, what went well and what they will apply next time.
The session analysis follows with the score and feedback. It shows the trainee's rating next to the AI rating, what worked, the next focus and timestamped key moments such as missed opportunities and improvements. Back on the dashboard, the new session appears in Recent Activity.
