Patient Communication Training Template
For nurses, doctors, pharmacists and front-desk staff who explain, reassure and ask for consent. The AI patients are worried and confused, like real ones, and sometimes in a hurry. Practice happens by voice, and the scoring checks that the patient understood and that the protocol was respected.
Training goals included
Each goal becomes a scored objective. Completed sessions are rated against it, so a manager sees which goal a trainee still misses.
- Explain medical information in plain language
- Show empathy while maintaining professional boundaries
- Confirm patient understanding and next steps
- Respect privacy, consent, and escalation protocols
Scenario briefs
Four starting situations. Each one is a role play script template: the setting, what the AI persona wants and what the trainee has to achieve.
Explaining a diagnosis
A patient has just received a result they do not understand. The clinician has to explain it in plain words, check what was understood and agree on the next step.
Informed consent
Before a procedure, the patient wants to sign and leave. The practitioner has to make sure they know the risks and the alternatives without alarming them.
An anxious relative
A family member asks for information about a patient who is not present. The staff member has to be kind and respect confidentiality.
Medication counselling
A pharmacist explains a new treatment to an elderly patient who already takes five medicines. The goal is a clear plan the patient can repeat back.

How to use this template
Describe your service and your protocols
The setup asks for your care context, your consent rules and the situations your staff finds hardest. Upload your patient leaflets if you have them.
Review the patient personas
Adjust their health literacy and their mood. A rushed consultation and a long one are both covered.
Practice and review with a supervisor
Staff practice by voice in their own language. The transcript shows whether the patient was asked to repeat the plan back.
