Brand Ambassador and Field Promoter Training Template
Promoters get one chance with each shopper. This template gives them hundreds of first contacts before the event: the hurried passer-by, the curious skeptic and the person who only wants the free sample. Each conversation is scored on the four goals of a field activation.
Training goals included
Each goal becomes a scored objective. Completed sessions are rated against it, so a manager sees which goal a trainee still misses.
- Create a positive first contact with consumers
- Present the product in an engaging way
- Handle rejections politely without being pushy
- Collect qualified contact information
Scenario briefs
Four starting situations. Each one is a role play script template: the setting, what the AI persona wants and what the trainee has to achieve.
The three-second approach
A shopper walks past the stand with a trolley and a child. The promoter has one sentence to earn a stop, without blocking the aisle.
Sampling with a skeptic
A consumer tries the sample and says it tastes like the brand they already buy. The promoter has to turn the comparison into a reason to switch.
A polite no
The person is not interested and says so twice. The promoter has to close warmly and leave a good impression of the brand.
Lead capture
The consumer liked the product. The promoter has to ask for contact details for the loyalty offer, explain how they will be used and get a yes.
Who you practice with
Hurried shopper
Passer-by
Answers in short sentences and keeps walking. Stops only for a concrete benefit.
Curious skeptic
Comparison shopper
Asks what makes it different and names a competitor. Enjoys a good argument.
Sample hunter
Freebie seeker
Wants the sample and nothing else. A test of how the promoter handles a no.
How to use this template
Set the brand tone and the rules
The setup asks for your key messages, the claims promoters may not make and any regulatory limits, such as alcohol or pharma.
Review the consumer personas
Adjust the shoppers to your venue: a festival crowd behaves differently from a pharmacy queue.
Train before the activation
Promoters practice by voice on their phone. The team lead sees who still oversells and who gives up after the first no.
