Speaking Confidence Practice Template
A practice space, not therapy. The situations that cost the most energy, from a phone call to a conversation with a manager, can be rehearsed as often as needed with a patient AI partner who never finishes your sentences. Feedback focuses on what was achieved, never on how it sounded.
Training goals included
Each goal becomes a scored objective. Completed sessions are rated against it, so a manager sees which goal a trainee still misses.
- Chat with a familiar, friendly person
- Handle an everyday exchange with a stranger (order, ask directions)
- Make a phone call (book, ask, cancel)
- Assert yourself politely (return an item, disagree)
- Speak with an authority figure or in a high-stakes setting (manager, interview)
Scenario briefs
Four starting situations. Each one is a role play script template: the setting, what the AI persona wants and what the trainee has to achieve.
Ordering a coffee
A busy cafe, a queue behind you. The goal is to order what you actually want, not the easiest word to say.
The phone call
Calling a clinic to move an appointment. The receptionist asks for a name and a date. The goal is to finish the call with the new time confirmed.
Returning an item
A shop assistant says the return window has passed. The goal is to state your case calmly and get an answer.
Speaking up in a meeting
A manager asks for opinions and moves fast. The goal is to make one point and have it heard.
Who you practice with
Friendly barista
Everyday stranger
Patient and relaxed. Waits for the full sentence.
Receptionist
Phone call
Professional and a little rushed. Asks for the details a real receptionist needs.
Manager
High-stakes setting
Moves fast but listens when a point is made. Never interrupts a pause.
How to use this template
Choose a situation and a pace
Start with a friendly chat and move up to the phone call and the meeting when ready. Each level can be repeated as often as wanted.
Practice privately
Sessions happen on your own phone, with nobody listening. The persona waits and never completes a word for you.
Read what you achieved
The feedback lists the goal reached and the moments that went well. There is no score on fluency and no count of blocks.
